Packing in the warehouse app

GuideLast checked on 15/10/2026

Scan an order, pick list or shipping box, check lines by scan (also with "× Quantity" and packs), split across several parcels by weight and report ready to ship, book the shipment or create the labels right away.

Under Goods issue → Packing you check at the packing station that everything is in the parcel and send the order on its way. allverto then automatically prints the delivery note, invoice and labels on this device's printers.

Anyone with the warehouse app can pack. Book shipment and Create label and ship require the permission Create shipping labels. Quantity and Mark all as checked are only available with Enter quantities when packing instead of scanning each piece – and only if the storage rule and device profile allow quantity without scan. When × Quantity works is explained under Enter quantity, then scan.

Step by step

  1. Scan order or pick list – order number, shop order number, pick list number or shipping box. If several orders belong to it, choose under Orders of the pick list (with box). After picking with Pack now, the pick list is already loaded.
  2. Read the Packing note. If the order requires confirmation, tap Read – I will follow it.
  3. Check lines: scan each item. Each scan counts (a pack counts the whole quantity); a completed line turns green. For large quantities, tap × Quantity to the left of the scan field, enter e.g. 24 and scan once. Where allowed, tap Quantity in the line or Mark all as checked at the top. Lines without a stock item (e.g. shipping costs) count as checked.
  4. If an item requires Serial numbers, record them in the section of that name.
  5. Package: choose the packaging (suggested by the shipping method) and check the weight. The target weight from items and packaging is suggested; with a scale on the device, tap Weigh, otherwise tap the weight and enter it. If not everything fits into one parcel, see Several parcels.
  6. What happens next:
    • Create label and ship (for several parcels Create … labels and ship) – choose the carrier; a label is created per parcel and the order counts as shipped
    • Book shipment – book as shipped without a label from allverto
    • Ready to ship – packed, waiting for shipment
  7. Afterwards you see what was printed where and can open the PDF via Show label. Then scan the next order.

On shipment, allverto books the stock out of the bins it was picked from. Below the parcels you see what will be printed on completion (e.g. "2 labels, delivery note, invoice" and the output rule, if any).

Several parcels

Each scan goes into the active parcel. For each parcel you see the content, number of units and the running weight (items + packaging, or weighed) with a bar up to the weight limit. The limit is the lower of the packaging's maximum load and the maximum weight of the shipping method or carrier.

  • If a scan would exceed the limit, the app asks Package is getting too heavy: Add new package – or … still fit, rest into the new package.
  • Add package manually creates another parcel (at most 20). With Pack here you make a different parcel active; the active one shows Scans go here.
  • Tap an item in a parcel to move it to another parcel.
  • Split by weight automatically distributes everything checked across the necessary parcels.
  • You remove the last parcel via the bin icon; its content moves to the previous one.
  • For each parcel you choose the packaging and weigh or enter the weight.

On completion, a label is created per parcel (the carrier's multi-parcel shipment or one shipment per parcel). The content per parcel is saved and shown in the Order overview.

The quantity still open is shown. If an order only partly made it onto the pick list (template weight limit, missing stock or shortage with partial delivery), only what was picked is shown here. Only that is shipped as well – the rest remains as a backorder in the order.

FFN orders (fulfiller)

You find FFN orders from your merchants via the order number (FA-…), the merchant's order number or the pick list. You check the third-party goods by scan as usual. Then:

  • Ready to ship: packed, the merchant sees the status
  • Report shipment: enter carrier, tracking number (scan or type) and parcels. The merchant receives the status and tracking number. Labels from allverto are not available for FFN orders.

For this you need the permission Handle fulfillment (advance shipping notices, goods receipt, hand over and ship orders, returns). Without it, the buttons are greyed out.

Bills of materials

A set is shown with a header row Bill of materials …. Below it follow its components with their quantity (sets × quantity per set). This is how you check:

  • Scan each component individually – like normal items.
  • Scan the set's EAN or item number – counts one complete set, i.e. all components. Intended for pre-packed sets. With × Quantity several sets are counted accordingly.

If too much of a component has already been checked, the set scan does not count. In that case scan the components individually.

Weight check

If a weight check is set up for the warehouse, the app compares the Target (items + packaging) with the Actual weight:

  • slight deviation: note – check the content or confirm that it is correct
  • deviation too large: "Shipping is blocked" – check the content and weigh again

Print again

If something could not be printed, Print again with the reason is shown in red at the top. For each printout: Print again, Show or remove from the list; with several, Reprint all. Later reprints are done in the Order overview.

Scanning

The app recognises items by item number, EAN/GTIN, GS1 code (also with quantity), pack EAN and other numbers. If there are several lines with the same item, the scan counts for the one still open first.

If a scanned EAN is unknown, the app asks whether it is a carton or pack of an item. With Assign as pack (permission Edit items) you choose the item from the order and the units per pack – the scan is then counted right away. See Enter quantity, then scan.
