Enter quantity, then scan – and assign packs

GuideLast checked on 15/10/2026

Count many units with one scan using "× Quantity" when packing and picking, set the storage rule "Quantity entry" and assign unknown carton EANs directly as a pack of an item.

With large quantities you don't have to scan every piece individually. When packing and picking you type in the quantity beforehand and scan the item once. It is only counted if the scan matches – so the scan check is preserved.

"× Quantity" and scan

  1. Tap × Quantity to the left of the scan field.
  2. Enter the quantity, e.g. 24.
  3. Scan the item. The field shows "24 × – scan item".

allverto only counts if the item belongs to an open line and the quantity does not exceed what is open. Otherwise nothing is counted – the quantity is not reduced. After the scan the field is empty again; use the X next to it to reset it beforehand.

With a Pack EAN the quantity is multiplied: 4 × carton of 6 = 24 units.

What is allowed

You set this per WMS warehouse in the ERP: Warehouse → Warehouses & bins → edit warehouse → Warehouse rules … → Quantity entry when packing and picking.

SettingEffect
Scan only (every piece)Every piece is scanned. A pack EAN counts its factor. × Quantity is greyed out.
Quantity + scan× Quantity is allowed from the minimum quantity Quantity + scan from (units per scan, default 2). Quantity without scan is off.
Quantity without scanLike quantity + scan. In addition, Quantity and Mark all as checked work when packing – only with the permission Enter quantities when packing instead of scanning each piece. This is the default.

Standard warehouses use the default. A warehouse device whose device profile (Warehouse settings → Devices & workstations) has Quantity lock mode set to Scan every unit blocks both – regardless of the warehouse.

If something is blocked, the button stays greyed out. If you tap it, the app gives the reason, e.g. "This warehouse uses "scan only (every unit)"."

Assigning an unknown EAN as a pack

If you scan a carton whose EAN does not yet belong to any item, the app offers Assign as pack – in packing, in Goods receipt and in the stock enquiry.

  1. Tap Assign as pack.
  2. Choose the item. The items of the order or purchase order are suggested; otherwise you search by number, name or EAN.
  3. Enter the Units per pack (at least 2) and optionally a Name, e.g. "Carton".
  4. Tap Save: 1 scan = … units.

The scan is then counted right away – with the pack quantity. From now on the pack is stored on the item and applies everywhere in allverto.

Assigning packs requires the permission Edit items. Without it, the button is greyed out.
