Provide material for production
GuideNewLast checked on 17/10/2026
In the warehouse app, bring components of released production orders to the staging bin of the work centre by scan, or issue them directly to the order.
Under Internal → Provide material the warehouse brings the components of released production orders to where production takes place. Production itself is reported in the production app – not in the warehouse app.
How the material is issued
Each production order has a withdrawal method (see Production order):
| Withdrawal method | What you do in the warehouse app |
|---|---|
| Material to production workstation | The work centre has a staging bin. You transfer the components there by scan; production issues them from there when reporting. |
| Issue by scan | No staging bin. The scan posts the issue directly to the production order. |
| Backflush | Standard warehouse or scan switched off – nothing to do here, the material is deducted when reporting. |
Step by step
- In the menu, tap Internal → Provide material. You see the orders of the selected warehouse with open material.
- Choose an order. For each component you see target, already issued or provided and open, plus bin suggestions by FEFO (first expired, first out) and walking route.
- Scan the bin, then the item and – for batch items – the batch. Check the quantity and confirm.
- Once nothing is open any more, the order disappears from the list.
The cockpit of the warehouse app points to open orders with “Material for production”.
Common errors
| Message | Solution |
|---|---|
| “… is the staging bin – please scan the bin …” | Scan the bin the material comes from, not the staging bin. |
| “Only … still open” | You cannot provide more than is open – reduce the quantity. |
| “… please scan the batch.” | For batch items with batch stock, the batch is mandatory. |
