Stock enquiry in the warehouse app
GuideLast checked on 15/10/2026
Scan an item or storage bin and instantly see what is where – stock per bin, bin contents, locks, open stocktakes and the latest movements.
Under Internal → Stock enquiry a single scan tells you what is on a bin or where an item is stored. Nothing is booked here – the stock enquiry is your quick look into the shelf.
The stock enquiry is open to everyone with access to the warehouse app; there is no separate permission. The Plus, Minus and Condition buttons only appear with the matching permissions.
Step by step
- Tap Stock enquiry in the menu (or scan a code directly in the warehouse cockpit).
- Scan into the field Scan item or bin at the top.
- Depending on the code you see:
- Storage bin: bin code, bin type, Locked if applicable, number of items and total quantity, an Open stocktake and below it the Contents with the quantity per item. Directly below are the bin's latest movements.
- Item: item number, EAN, the quantities In the warehouse, Reserved (total) and Available (total), then Stock per bin (locked bins in red) and a note on stock in other warehouses. The standard warehouse has no bins – there you only see the stock in the warehouse.
- Pick list: number and – if open – Picking.
- Order: number and Packing.
- Tap an item or bin in the list to jump straight to it.
From the scanned bin you can book right away: Plus, Minus or Condition open the stock increase, stock decrease or change condition with this bin.
Scanning
- Bins via the bin label, items via EAN/GTIN, item number or GS1 code.
- If a code matches several items (e.g. the same EAN), the app asks which one you mean.
- Without a handheld scanner, tap the camera icon in the scan field.
Common errors
| Message | Solution |
|---|---|
| "… is neither a storage bin nor an item, pick list or order." | Code misread or not in the system – scan again or type in the item number. If it is the EAN of a carton, assign it to an item with Assign as pack (permission Edit items, see Assign pack). |
| "There is none of this item in this warehouse." | The item is only stored in other warehouses (note below) – switch warehouse if needed. |
| Bin is shown as Stock without storage bin | In a WMS warehouse this is stock without a real bin, or the clarification bin – move it to real bins via Put-away. In the standard warehouse this is normal. |
