Goods receipt and put-away in the warehouse app

ReferenceLast checked on 15/10/2026

Overview of the warehouse app's Goods receipt group – accept deliveries, book goods without documents, put them away on storage bins and resolve clarification cases.

In the Goods receipt group of the menu you accept goods and bring them to their bin. Booking is always done by scan – so the stock on the shelf is correct. For all warehouses, goods receipt runs only here; the ERP no longer has it. Each workflow has its own guide:

WorkflowPurposePermission
Goods receiptFind expected delivery notes from suppliers and transfers by scan, record items, capture batch/best-before date, confirm over-deliveries and book.Post stock movements
Free goods receiptBook in goods without a purchase order or delivery note – also directly after an item scan without a matching delivery.Post stock movements
Put-awayDistribute goods from the goods receipt and clarification bin to their storage bins with a put-away suggestion.Transfer stock and maintain replenishment
Clarification casesBook in, return to the supplier or write off damaged, wrong, over-delivered or unknown goods.Post stock movements

Typical flow

  1. Scan the delivery in Goods receipt and record the items.
  2. Book the goods directly onto the storage bin – or, in a WMS warehouse, first onto the Goods receipt bin.
  3. Distribute them later via Put-away.
  4. Book anything that doesn't fit as a Clarification case onto the clarification bin and resolve it there.

In a standard warehouse (without storage bins) you tap Apply instead of scanning a bin – the goods go straight into the warehouse. Put-away is not needed there; you put clarification cases aside with Set aside (clarification case).

How to start goods receipt from the ERP (e.g. from a purchase order) is described under Booking goods receipt. You also accept transfers from other warehouses in goods receipt – details under Transfer orders.
