Setting up pick list templates

GuideLast checked on 15/10/2026

Save filters, quantities and the reservation order – create pick lists with one tap or automatically, structured like in JTL-WMS.

A pick list template remembers which orders go on a pick list, how many, and from which bins picking is done. With one tap it creates a pick list:

  • in the warehouse app under Pick list overview → Create pick list,
  • in the warehouse app under Picking → My pick lists.

Structure and terms correspond to JTL-WMS (“Picklistenvorlagen verwalten” – manage pick list templates). What doesn't exist in allverto is still shown – greyed out, with a short explanation.

Where you manage templates

  • Desktop: Warehouse → Settings → Pick list templates. The columns are named as in JTL: Quickslot, Colour, Name, Type, Direct, Mobile, Comment.
  • Warehouse app: side menu → Settings → Pick lists. Here you set the order by dragging (on a touch device press and hold briefly, with the keyboard Alt + arrow) – this is how the templates appear under “My pick lists”. Tapping opens Active, Edit, Duplicate and Delete. On a phone the editor opens full screen. See Pick list templates in the warehouse app.

If there is no template yet, Create example templates creates “Single item” and “Batch pick up to 20 orders”.

How to edit a template

The editor has four tabs: General settings, Order properties, Items and Advanced filters. Each setting has a switch – its inputs only appear when switched on, and settings that are switched off have no effect. At the bottom left you continuously see how many orders the template currently matches and how many of them are pickable now. Pickable means: with shipping method, payment OK, in stock. If none is pickable, the reasons are shown next to it. The same trial run provides the counter under Picking → My pick lists; it lists unpaid orders separately (“also … unpaid”).

General settings

  • Pick list template:
    • Pick list name, warehouse, pick list type (single pick, pick-to-box, batch pick, zone pick)
    • Template set (print template of the type “Pick list”), colour, quickslot/sorting, comment
    • Disable preview – when switched on, the pick list is created without a preview
  • Order for reserving stock – which bins are picked from first. Switch criteria on or off, choose the direction, sort with the arrows:
    • Storage bin name, storage bin sort number, default bins, best-before date
    • plus storage bin type, storage area and stock on the bin
    • Switches: Reserve from replenishment areas last, Prefer reserving from storage bins with sufficient stock, Prefer bins without active reservations
    • Storage bin priority: priority on the bin (1 = highest, under Warehouses & bins); bins without priority last
    • Returned items: Not returned first or Returned first. Returned means goods that were put back into stock from a return – until the bin has been empty once
  • Pick list properties:
    • Enable direct packing: go straight to packing after completion
    • Rolling picking: pick-to-box without a fixed end, with max. simultaneous orders and Runs until, see Rolling picking
    • Enable single-SKU pick list: with the maximum number of different items
  • Pick list automation: see below.
  • Settings for the warehouse app: Enable order-based pick list – the lines come order by order.
  • Show pick list template:
    • Only for selected users – only these users see the template under “My pick lists”
    • Only for selected shipping boxes or pick carts – lists from this template only accept these boxes or carts

Order properties

  • Always checked (fixed, without a switch):
    • Shipping method on the order. Orders without a shipping method never go on a pick list.
    • Payment: paid, or the payment method allows shipping before payment is received. You set this under sales settings → payment methods → “Delivery before payment allowed” (by default e.g. invoice, direct debit, cash on delivery). Unpaid orders are only included with “Pre-picking”.
    • Stock in the pick list's warehouse, not allocated to other open pick lists.
    • Not held, not already on an open pick list.
    • Ship no earlier than: if the order has a date, it only goes on a pick list from that day on. This also applies to FFN orders where the merchant sets the date. Until then it doesn't count in the counter; the message says “shipping only from …”.
  • Quantities per pick list:
    • Min./max. number of orders (below the minimum nothing is created)
    • Minimum/maximum number of items per order
    • Minimum/maximum number of items on the pick list
    • Maximum lines on the pick list
  • Order properties:
    • Shipping weight (kg), total price (gross) and volume (cm³) of the order from/to
    • Partial delivery up to max. (kg): if an order is heavier, only as much goes on the pick list as fits under the limit (lines in order). With Partially deliver lines, partial quantities of a line too; bills of materials only in whole sets. The rest remains as a backorder in the order. Only what was picked is packed and shipped – a partial delivery as in Shipping. If partial delivery is switched off in the settings (“complete only”), heavier orders stay out.
    • Exclude orders with items without a volume
    • Batch-pure reservation, only orders with one item, only identical orders
  • Pre-picking:
    • Also pre-pick unpaid orders
    • Automatically pre-pick all unpaid orders
    • Always pre-pick items for fully deliverable orders
    • Don't put fully deliverable orders on the pick list
  • Put on the pick list:
    • All orders, only identical or only different billing and delivery addresses
    • Expected delivery date, sorting of the orders
  • Restrict to:
    • Shipping methods, all colours, billing countries, payment methods
    • Platforms (type of sales channel), sales channels, delivery countries, customer groups, priority, companies
    • Merchants – for fulfillers: the merchant's orders via the merchant's customer record in your master data
    • Customers – individual customers via search
    • Postcode prefixes
    • Delivery options – orders with at least one of the selected options (e.g. express, Saturday delivery)

Greyed out: items for started boxes, order completely partially delivered according to FIFO.

Items

  • Choose whether all items of the order must match or at least one.
  • Dimensions and price:
    • Width, height and length (cm) of the order's items
    • Shortest and longest edge
    • Standard gross sales price of an item
  • Best-before date: minimum number of days an item with a best-before date must still keep; reserve by best-before date. Expired and blocked batches never.
  • Bills of materials:
    • reserve only completely is always active: if a component is missing, the bill of materials doesn't go on the list. With partial delivery only whole sets.
    • prefer reserving from the same storage bin: if there is a bin with all components, picking is done from there.
    • reserve only completely from one storage bin: without such a bin, the order doesn't go on the list.
  • Restrict to: shipping classes, manufacturers, item conditions, product groups.

Advanced filters

  • Restrict to:
    • Custom fields from the item or the order
    • Storage bin types, storage areas
    • Labels from the item
    • Users from the order: only orders created by these users. Imported orders and orders from sales channels have no user. The order window shows Created by … for this.
  • Document types: by default only Order. Also selectable: These documents appear with a type marker in the pick list's walking route. The scan posts immediately: transfer to “in transit”, material to the production order or the staging bin. There is no packing. When the pick list is completed, the transfer order counts as shipped. If goods are missing, the document remains for the next run.
    • Stock transfer: transfer orders (draft) from the pick list's warehouse
    • Production transfer: transfer orders into a warehouse with production
    • Production supply order: open material of released production orders in the warehouse
  • Source warehouse and Target warehouse restrict the transfers.
  • Show created pick lists: when creating, you see how many open pick lists from the template exist.
  • Shortage without replacement bin: put the order back or partial delivery.

Greyed out: shipping boxes.

Pick list automation

  1. Under General settings, switch on Allow automatic creation.
  2. Choose the Schedule: fixed times or an interval with a time window, plus the weekdays.
  3. Save. The template needs a fixed warehouse.
  4. Click Activate.

Without activating, nothing runs. If you remove the schedule or deactivate the template, the automation is off.
