Correct stock (plus/minus)

GuideLast checked on 18/10/2026

Change the stock of a standard warehouse in the ERP with a correction (plus or minus) – goods receipts and stocktaking are posted by the warehouse app.

With Correct stock you change an item's stock by hand in the ERP – for example for a found item or breakage. In the ERP, only the correction (plus/minus) is available for this, and only for standard warehouses. Deliveries are posted via the goods receipt in the warehouse app, counting is done via stocktaking – also in the warehouse app.

Before you start

Owner, Administration and Warehouse may correct stock. Stock in WMS warehouses is posted only by the warehouse app (plus posting, minus posting) – see WMS warehouse.

Step by step

  1. Open the dialog:
    • in the Warehouse overview by right-clicking the row → Correct stock (plus/minus)…, or
    • in the item window on the Warehouse tab.
  2. Choose the Warehouse (often already pre-filled). Only standard warehouses are offered.
  3. Enter the Quantity – positive for an addition, with a minus for a removal, e.g. −3.
  4. Optionally choose a Correction reason and add a Note.
  5. Click Post.

Partial quantities in stock

Items with a divisible unit – kg, g, t, l, ml, cl, m, cm, mm, m² or m³ – keep their stock with up to three decimal places, e.g. 2.5 kg or 12.75 m. For these items the Quantity field accepts a decimal separator; piece items stay whole numbers.

  • The POS books divisible items with the exact quantity (e.g. 0.35 kg) instead of rounding to whole units.
  • Sales channels and orders count whole units: stock of 2.5 kg counts as 2 there (rounded down).
  • Stocktaking and transfer orders still count whole units. Correct partial quantities here with Correct stock.

Good to know

  • Every posting is a stock movement with date and user (Warehouse → Movements, see Stock movements). Stock is never overwritten; you correct mistakes with a reverse posting.
  • A standard warehouse has no storage bins – the quantity is posted directly to the warehouse.
  • If you only have WMS warehouses, you cannot correct anything in the ERP – use the plus or minus posting in the warehouse app.
  • You maintain the adjustment reasons under Warehouse settings → Adjustment reasons. Per reason, Serial numbers on minus booking defines whether serial numbers booked out count as missing (shrinkage, theft, loss) or defective (breakage, damage).
