Stock valuation

ReferenceLast checked on 18/10/2026

Stock value on a reference date using the average, last or supplier purchase price, lower of cost or market, saved valuations as an archive, stock development and automatic valuations by e-mail.

The stock valuation shows what your stock is worth on a reference date: stock at the end of the day × purchase price per unit. You find it under Warehouse → Stock valuation.

Permission: View warehouse and Show purchase prices – without the second permission the menu item is hidden.

Valuation on reference date

  1. Choose the Reference date and the Valuation method.
  2. If needed, narrow down by Warehouse and Category, choose the Grouping (per warehouse, per category or none) and Only with stock.
  3. Output the valuation with Print (PDF) or CSV for Excel.
MethodWhere the purchase price comes from
Avg. purchase price (moving average)Average of all goods receipts including incidental costs (freight, customs …)
Last purchase price (landed cost)Purchase price of the last goods receipt before the reference date
Purchase price of preferred supplierPurchase price at the preferred supplier

If an item has no goods receipt yet, allverto uses the purchase price of the preferred supplier as an estimate; items without any purchase price are listed as Without purchase price. Negative stock is valued at 0.

With Lower of cost or market, the lower value of the chosen method and the current supplier purchase price applies per item – as required for the annual financial statements.

Saved valuations

With Save stock valuation you freeze a valuation with all lines, PDF and CSV – e.g. for the year-end closing. Saved valuations cannot be changed or deleted, only cancelled with a reason. In the Saved valuations tab you open, print and compare them (difference B − A per item and warehouse).

Stock development

The Stock development tab shows per item and warehouse for a period: opening stock + receipts − issues = closing stock, each with value. Movements are valued at the purchase price at the time of posting; the valuation difference results from price changes, lower of cost or market and estimates. Quantity check shows whether the quantities add up.

Create automatically

Under Create automatically you set up schedules (monthly, quarterly, yearly). allverto saves the valuation itself after the end of the period and, if you like, sends it by e-mail with PDF and CSV – e.g. to the tax advisor.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the value differ from the warehouse overview?

The warehouse overview calculates with the sales price, the stock valuation with the purchase price.

Why does an item show “Estimate”?

There is no goods receipt with a price yet. allverto uses the purchase price of the preferred supplier until the first goods receipt is posted.
