Product safety (GPSR)

Since the EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR), items offered online must name the manufacturer with their address – and, if the manufacturer is not based in the EU, a responsible person in the EU (importer, authorised representative or fulfillment service provider). Safety information and documents come on top of that. You maintain all of this in the Product safety tab of the item window.

#Before you start

• Create manufacturers with postal address and contact under Items → Settings → Manufacturers, and responsible persons under Items → Settings → Responsible persons. You can store a responsible person as the default for a manufacturer.
• Anyone with the permission Edit items may make changes.

#Step by step

1. Open the item and switch to the Product safety tab.
2. In the Manufacturer and responsible person card, choose the Manufacturer. Below it you see their address and contact; missing details are shown in orange under Missing: …. Master data takes you straight to the entry.
3. If needed, choose a Responsible person. Empty = Manufacturer default.
4. Look at the Check card: it shows either "Manufacturer and responsible person details are complete." or a list of gaps, e.g. "Manufacturer is not based in the EU – responsible person in the EU missing".
5. Under Safety information, enter the warnings and safety notes – as on the label or in the instructions. Use the language selection to maintain translations; empty languages fall back to German.
6. Save the item with Ctrl+S. The shop and channels receive the details with the next sync.

#Documents and downloads

The Documents and downloads card accepts files up to 10 MB (PDF, images, Word, Excel, text, CSV):

1. Click Upload file and choose the file.
2. In the popup you set the Type (User manual, Safety information, Declaration of conformity, Safety data sheet, Certificate / test report or Other download), Title and Language. allverto suggests the type based on the file name.
3. Release for shop and channels makes the file publicly accessible via a link that can't be guessed – e.g. for the "Product safety" tab in the shop. Without release it stays Internal.

Right-click a file: Open, Edit…, Copy public link and Delete…. Files are only available once the item has been saved.

#Many items at once

• Assign: in the item overview, select items and choose Manufacturer and responsible person… via right-click. – unchanged – leaves the value as it is; you can also remove it. Parent items pass the value on to their children.
• Find gaps: Quick filter → Product safety → GPSR incomplete (active, listed in a channel) shows all items where something is still missing.

#Frequently asked questions

#Do I always need a responsible person?

No. If the manufacturer is based in the EU, they are sufficient as the contact. Only if they are based outside the EU (or no manufacturer is assigned) do you need a responsible person based in the EU.

#How do the details get into the shop?

The allverto shop receives the manufacturer, responsible person, safety information and released documents with the next sync.
