Item settings: manufacturers, product groups, labels and more
Overview of the settings window of the Items area – master data such as manufacturers, responsible persons, delivery status, cross-selling groups, product groups, labels, shipping classes, characteristics, configuration groups, units, attributes, custom fields and display.
You maintain all lists you choose from in the item in the area's settings window: Items → Settings (at the bottom of the left sidebar) or at the very bottom of the Items menu. How the window works is explained in Settings window per area.
Menu items

Anyone with the permission Manage users may change the company default for the image preview; every user can deviate from it for themselves. You don't maintain packaging (cartons) here, but under Shipping → Settings → Packaging.
Maintaining entries
- You create new entries at the top of the respective list; Edit… changes them.
- Archive hides an entry in selection lists without removing it from existing items. Restore brings it back.
- Delete… removes an entry permanently – only if no item uses it any more. Otherwise the menu item shows the number of items; archive it in that case.
Categories?
You don't maintain categories here, but directly on the left of the item overview by right-clicking the category tree.
