Connecting DHL and DPD
Connect carriers with your business customer credentials, choose the default product and maintain the sender address for the labels.
For allverto to be able to create shipping labels, you connect your carrier with your own business customer credentials. The settings are in the settings window of the Shipping area: Shipping → Settings → Carriers. On the Shipping page, the Carriers button takes you straight there.
Before you start
- DHL: a business customer account with access to the DHL business customer portal. You need a system user with password, your customer number (EKP) (10 digits, shown in the portal under contract data) and the Participation (usually 01).
- DPD: access to the DPD Web Services with a DELIS ID and password.
- Permission to set up shipping (e.g. role Administration).
Step by step
- Open Shipping → Settings → Carriers.
- First fill in the Sender address: Company, Street and house number, Postcode, City, Country, optionally Phone and Email (for queries from the carrier). It is the address of the default warehouse and appears on every label of an order whose shipping warehouse has no address of its own – otherwise the address of the shipping warehouse applies (see Warehouses & bins). Click Save.
- Click Connect carrier and choose DHL Paket (business customer portal) or DPD (DPD Web Services).
- Enter a name in allverto (e.g. “DHL main account”) and choose the Default product.
- Enter the credentials (see above).
- To try things out, you can switch on Test mode – labels are then created from the test environment, which the carrier won't accept.
- Click Test login. If it works, click Connect.
The carrier now appears under Connected carriers with the status Connected.
Managing the connection
Via the menu of a connected carrier:
- Replace credentials – e.g. after a password change in the portal,
- Close day now or End-of-day closing (manifest) – see below,
- Pause / Resume – temporarily no labels via this account,
- Remove.
The status Error shows that the last login with the carrier failed – then check the credentials.
Warenpost International via DHL
If your DHL business customer contract includes the product Warenpost International, you send small goods shipments abroad directly via your DHL Paket connection – without a separate contract with Deutsche Post International.
| Product | For |
|---|---|
| DHL Warenpost International Standard | Up to 1 kg abroad, without tracking and liability |
| DHL Warenpost International Premium | Up to 1 kg abroad, with tracking and liability for many destination countries |
- In the DHL business customer portal, check under contract data whether there is a billing number with procedure 66 (customer number + 66 + participation, e.g. 1234567890 66 01). If it is missing, your DHL sales contact activates the product.
- If the participation for procedure 66 differs from the others, enter it in the connection under Participation WPI – when connecting or via Replace credentials. If empty, the general Participation applies.
- Choose DHL Warenpost International Standard or DHL Warenpost International Premium on the label, in the shipping method or as the default product.
What allverto checks before the label:
- only shipments abroad – for Germany choose DHL Paket or Kleinpaket,
- at most 1,000 g per shipment and 35.3 × 25 × 10 cm; when packing, the warehouse app suggests another parcel from 1 kg,
- no cash on delivery, additional insurance, visual age check, Packstation or post office; preferred day and preferred location are dropped with a notice,
- outside the EU, allverto transmits the customs data (contents, value, customs tariff number, country of origin). DHL prints the CN 22 on the label, allverto attaches the commercial invoice. From a goods value of €1,000, an export declaration is required – then choose DHL Paket International.
Other carriers
You connect GLS, UPS and Hermes in the same window with the data from your own contract – step by step in Connecting GLS, Connecting UPS and Connecting Hermes. There is no public test access for these three: test mode also needs test credentials from the carrier. Deutsche Post (Internetmarke and Warenpost International), DHL Express and FedEx are also there – step by step in Connecting Deutsche Post, Connecting DHL Express and Connecting FedEx; without credentials, test mode simulates these three with sample labels. If DHL or DPD shows “Platform key still missing”, the integration hasn't been activated on your allverto installation yet – contact allverto support.
Frequently asked questions
Can I connect several accounts of the same carrier?
Yes, each account gets its own name. When creating labels, you choose the account in the Carrier field.
Is there an end-of-day closing?
Yes, for every active account via Manage. For DHL and GLS the item is called Close day now: allverto also closes the parcels at the carrier via the interface (see Connecting GLS). For all others it is called End-of-day closing (manifest). In both cases you get the manifest as a PDF with all parcels since the last closing. The closing matters for cancellations: DHL shipments can only be cancelled as long as the end-of-day closing hasn't been done at DHL.
How do I order a pickup?
For DHL Express and FedEx, the account has the item Request pickup under Manage. For pallets and general cargo, you request the pickup with the freight order.
