GuideLast checked on 19/10/2026

Print stamps from the Portokasse directly from the order and send small goods shipments abroad with Warenpost International – with balance display, refunds and customs documents.

With Deutsche Post you print stamps with address (Internetmarke – Deutsche Post's online postage) or labels for Warenpost International directly from the order. Both run via your own contract with Deutsche Post – allverto doesn't charge any postage.

Internetmarke

Before you start

  • a Deutsche Post Portokasse (portokasse.deutschepost.de) with balance,
  • email address and password of this Portokasse,
  • the Sender address under Shipping → Settings → Carriers.

Step by step

  1. Open Shipping → Settings → Carriers and click Connect carrier.
  2. Choose Deutsche Post and below it Internetmarke (Portokasse).
  3. Enter a name in allverto and choose the Default product, e.g. Standard letter or Large letter.
  4. Enter the Portokasse email and Portokasse password.
  5. Choose the Print format: plain A4 paper, insert sheet for window envelopes, 62 × 100 mm label or directly on the envelope.
  6. Click Test login.
  7. The first time, the Portokasse asks for approval: log in at portokasse.deutschepost.de, open Meine Daten → Geschäftsanwendungen (My data → Business applications) and approve allverto. Then click Test login again and Connect.

On the account's card you see the Portokasse balance. Retrieve fetches the current balance. After each purchase, the remaining balance is also shown in the message for the label.

Creating a stamp

  1. Under Shipping → Orders → Ready to ship, select one or more orders and click Create labels.
  2. Choose the Deutsche Post account and the Shipping product. The list only shows Internetmarke letter products.
  3. Check the Weight: a standard letter allows at most 20 g, a large letter 500 g. If the letter is too heavy, allverto reports this before the purchase.
  4. Click Create label. The stamp with sender and recipient opens as a PDF.

Letters without registered mail have no tracking. The stamp's number is then stored in the order as the tracking number.

Letters abroad

For destinations outside Germany you choose an international product, e.g. Large letter international. If the destination is outside the EU (e.g. Switzerland, United Kingdom, USA), allverto appends the customs declaration (CN 22 or CN 23) and commercial invoice as additional pages after the stamp. Print them, sign them and attach them to the outside of the letter.

Cancelling and refunds

You cancel an unused stamp under Shipping → Shipments → Label created by right-clicking → Cancel shipment…. allverto registers it with Deutsche Post for a refund. After Deutsche Post has checked it, the balance is returned to the Portokasse – this can take a few days.

Warenpost International

Before you start

  • a contract with Deutsche Post International (via your sales contact),
  • the interface credentials: Client ID and Client secret – test and live access are different,
  • your customer number (EKP), 10 digits,
  • for destinations outside the EU: Customs tariff number and Country of origin in every item (Shipping & customs).

Step by step

  1. Connect carrier → Deutsche Post → Warenpost International.
  2. Choose the Default product: Warenpost International Tracked (with tracking), Warenpost International Priority, Business Mail Priority or Business Mail Registered (documents).
  3. Enter Client ID, Client secret and Customer number (EKP).
  4. Test login and Connect.

For the label, allverto transmits contents, value, weight, customs tariff number and country of origin. Deutsche Post prints the CN 22 directly on the label. Up to 2 kg and 5 goods items per shipment are allowed.

Test mode

  • Without credentials, allverto simulates the service: sample labels printed with “SAMPLE” are created, nothing is purchased. Ideal for trying out the processes.
  • With credentials, test mode uses a developer Portokasse for Internetmarke (the stamps carry the watermark “Muster”, i.e. sample) and the Deutsche Post International test environment for Warenpost International.
