Planning and capacity
Have the MRP run suggest production orders, contract manufacturing and purchase orders according to the procurement type, plan the daily load of work centres and evaluate production working times.
Under Production → Planning (MRP), allverto calculates what needs to be produced and what needs to be bought. The Planning page has three tabs: MRP run, Capacity (also directly via Production → Capacity) and Working times.
MRP run
The MRP run tab goes through all bill of materials levels – from the end product down to the raw material. It considers items with a bill of materials and items with the Procurement type in-house production or contract manufacturing. For each item, allverto compares:
available stock (after customer orders) − material requirement of open production orders − requirement from parent products + open purchase orders and open production
with the Reorder point. If an item is below it, the item's procurement type (in the item, tab Warehouse) decides which suggestion is created:
| Section | For | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Planned orders – in-house production | Products with procurement type in-house production | Create production orders – status “Planned”, or released immediately with Release immediately (material reserved) |
| Contract manufacturing – hand over to fulfiller | Products with procurement type contract manufacturing | Hand over to fulfiller… – creates a contract manufacturing order at the fulfiller set in the item under Production (see Contract manufacturing). The raw goods for it are listed under bought-in parts and go to the fulfiller warehouse via advance shipping notice. |
| Purchase suggestions – bought-in parts | Bought-in parts | Create purchase orders – drafts per supplier, rounded to minimum quantity and packaging unit, as with the purchase suggestions |
“No requirement” means: all products and components are above the reorder point, or open orders and purchase orders already cover the requirement.
Capacity
The Capacity tab shows, per Work centre and day, the planned operations relative to the daily capacity (from the work centres) – and the planned staff of the work centre based on daily capacity and absences of the staff.
- Browse with One week back/forward or Two weeks back/forward; Show weekend shows Saturday and Sunday.
- Reschedule: drag an order to another day – allverto sets its start date accordingly.
- Operations without a work centre are shown in a separate row.
- Overdue (red) are operations whose planned day is before today. Backlog from before the displayed period is shown on the first day – but only as long as the period does not start after today. If you page forward, nothing before the start date appears.
- Staff: a person's daily capacity is split equally across their work centres; the Total staff row counts each person once. Public holidays (state of the person or of time tracking) do not count, nor do production absences and – with the time tracking add-on module – approved absences from time tracking.
Working times
The Working times tab evaluates the production time bookings (shop floor data collection): Actual time, Target time (pro rata), Actual cost and the number of staff in the selected Period. Under Grouping you choose By employee, By work centre, By order or the individual Bookings. The times are created in the production app with setup, production and pause per operation, see Production app.
