Working Hours Act: what allverto checks

ReferenceNewLast checked on 16/10/2026

Breaks after 6 and 9 hours, a maximum of 10 hours a day, 11 hours of rest, work on Sundays and public holidays, automatic break deduction and public holidays per federal state.

allverto checks every day against the most important rules of the German Working Hours Act (Arbeitszeitgesetz, ArbZG) and shows violations as notes on the day, in the team overview and in the working time record. These notes are not legal advice; allverto does not know about exceptions (e.g. from a collective agreement).

The notes

Public holidays

allverto calculates the statutory public holidays for each federal state itself – including the movable ones that depend on Easter (Good Friday, Easter Monday, Ascension Day, Whit Monday, Corpus Christi), the Day of Repentance and Prayer in Saxony, Reformation Day, International Women's Day in Berlin and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and World Children's Day in Thuringia. Only holidays that apply in individual municipalities alone (e.g. Assumption Day in parts of Bavaria or the Augsburg Peace Festival) are missing.

allverto calculates all times in German time (Europe/Berlin), including across the switch to and from summer time.
