Recording working time

GuideNewLast checked on 18/10/2026

Automatic start at sign-in, prompt before your working hours begin, break, resume and end of work in the header, warehouse app and POS, signing out and times stopped automatically.

Working time in allverto works like a time clock: it starts when you sign in, pauses at the click of a button and ends when you finish work. Your company defines which rules apply in the time tracking settings.

Starting at sign-in

If the automatic start is switched on, your working time begins when you sign in – in the ERP, in the warehouse app (also after switching operator via PIN) and at the POS. Time tracking started briefly appears at the top.

  • Signed in before your working hours begin? Then allverto asks, for example: Your working time starts at 10:00. Start time tracking now? With Start now the time runs immediately; with Start at 10:00 it starts at the planned time. If you don't answer, it starts by itself at 10:00 as long as you are still signed in.
  • Not a working day today? On days off, public holidays and during an absence, allverto asks whether the time should start anyway.
  • Back from a break? If you sign in again after a break, the time continues.

You can switch off the automatic start for yourself under People → Time tracking in the field Start automatically when signing in.

Break, resume, end of work

WhereHow it works
ERPThe running time is shown at the top of the header next to the bell. One click opens Break, Resume and End of work as well as your target and actual hours for today.
Warehouse appIn the side menu under Time tracking.
POSIn the POS menu in the Time tracking group.

Breaks of 15 minutes or more count as rest breaks under the Working Hours Act (Arbeitszeitgesetz).

Signing out

When you sign out, allverto asks End working time?:

  • Yes, end work ends your working time and signs you out.
  • No, just sign out keeps the time running, for example if you continue working on another device.

If you are signed out automatically due to inactivity, allverto doesn't ask – the time then ends at the latest via the rule below.

Stopped automatically – please check

So that no time keeps running overnight, allverto ends a running working time

  • at midnight (not for night shifts, see below) and
  • after a longer period of inactivity (company setting), at the time of the last activity.

The time is then marked Stopped automatically – please check, and you receive a message in the bell. If the time is correct, confirm it with That is correct; otherwise request a correction (see My times, corrections and month-end sign-off).

Night shift

If someone regularly works past midnight, managers switch on Night shift in the person's profile. Then the working time does not end at midnight: the whole shift belongs to the day it started (e.g. 22:00–06:00 to Monday), including a break across midnight. If a shift runs longer than 16 hours, allverto stops it automatically and marks it for checking. You add forgotten night shifts with a correction and End on the next day.
