Vacation and absences
Request vacation, sick leave, special leave, time off in lieu and unpaid leave, half days, approval via the bell and email, vacation account with carry-over and the team calendar.
Under People → Absences you request vacation, report sick and see who in the team is away when.
Types
| Type | Effect |
|---|---|
| Vacation | Counts against your vacation entitlement; the day counts as worked. |
| Sick leave | Applies immediately (sick notification, no approval needed). The day counts as worked. |
| Special leave | E.g. a wedding or moving house; the day counts as worked and does not count against your vacation. |
| Time off in lieu | The target stays, and the day reduces your flexitime balance. |
| Unpaid leave | No target hours, no credit. |
Requesting an absence
- Click Request absence.
- Choose the type and the period. For half days, switch on First day half or Last day half (for a single day, Half day).
- At the bottom of the dialog, allverto shows the working days of the period (according to your working hours, without public holidays) and, for vacation, the remaining vacation before and afterwards. If the request exceeds the remaining days, a warning appears – if your company has switched on Reject vacation beyond the remaining days, it cannot be submitted like this. Then save.
If the period overlaps with another absence, allverto rejects it. The managers receive a message in the bell (and, depending on the settings, by email); you are informed about their decision in the same way – each in your own language.
Cancelling
You withdraw a still open request yourself. For approved vacation you request cancellation; managers decide on it. If the absence falls into a month that has already been confirmed, you can neither enter new absences nor cancel approved ones – only after managers have reopened the month. A month that has only been signed is reset and signed again.
Vacation account
The vacation account shows your entitlement, the carry-over from the previous year, days taken and requested, and what remains. Remaining vacation from the previous year is used up first and expires after the company's cut-off date (e.g. 31 March) if it has not been taken by then.
Team calendar
The calendar shows who is absent per person and day. Without approval rights, you only see absent for others – not whether it is vacation or sick leave. Weekends and public holidays are marked.
